Hey! So Glad You're Here.

My name is Rebekah. My husband and I moved to Dayton, Ohio in 2013, and since then we’ve been building life together. He runs a tire shop, and I stay home with our four kids, two dogs, and a small army of chickens.

For a while, I worked as a photographer, but I soon realized that big weddings and endless hours behind a screen weren’t the creative outlet I was truly looking for. I had always loved art, and in 2017, I began pursuing my art degree—slowly, between nap times and school pick-ups. I’ll finish in the spring of 2026.

The motivation for this blog came when I received a scholarship to study art abroad in Italy. That opportunity lit something in me that had been quietly waiting: the desire to create again, to really make space for my own work.

These days, I’m dreaming of a future where I regularly share and sell my art—and eventually teach, too. I’m especially drawn to portraiture. I love, love, love to draw people and am deeply inspired by artists like Alice Neel, Vivian Maier, and Käthe Kollwitz. One day, I hope to build a body of work that reflects the complexity, strength, and softness I see in the people around me.
